Benefits of Beeswax Candles

November 27, 2022

Beeswax candles.  Chances are, if you bought one, you may think it's too pretty to burn.  Maybe some of these facts will change your mind!  Most candle makers want you to burn their candles!

Did you know:
Honey bees need to consume 6-8 pounds of honey to produce one pound of wax.  Producing beeswax is a resource-intensive activity and part of the reason why beeswax candles are more expensive than paraffin or soy candles.

Beeswax candles are all natural and burn cleanly, meaning they do not leave soot behind.  This may be important for those with respiratory issues.

There is some research that claims burning beeswax candles purifies the air.  There is also research that claims this is not true, but if beeswax candles really do clean the air, they do this by producing negative ions, which are attracted to positive ions, which is the charge many pollutants have.  So, the negative ions bind to the positive ions and neutralize the air.

Beeswax candles naturally smell great!  Fragrance or essential oils are not necessary to scent the candle.  Beeswax candles have a warm, sweet honey scent to them.  The smell is completely natural and nontoxic.

If you're interested in trying a beeswax candles, check out the 3 tea light set.  Each tea light will burn 3-4 hours and is a good way to see if you like beeswax candles.
